What this tool does
Takes the password off a document you can already open, so it stops asking every time. It is not a cracking tool: the correct password has to be typed in, and a wrong one is refused. Everything happens in the tab, so neither the file nor the password is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Drop the password-protected PDF.
- Type the password that opens it; the eye button shows what you typed.
- Leave the field empty if the file opens without asking and only carries restrictions.
- Download the file, which now opens with no password at all.
Common questions
- I do not know the password. Can you open the file anyway?
- No. The password is not guessed, brute-forced or recovered here — without the right one the document stays closed. Ask whoever protected the file.
- The file opens on its own but printing and copying are blocked. What do I type?
- Nothing. Documents like that carry only an owner password, so leave the field empty and run the tool; the restrictions come off with the encryption.
- What if the file has no password at all?
- You are told so and the file is left alone. Rewriting an unprotected document and calling it unlocked would only be misleading.
